This Chamber has bem advised by the Hangteng Central Estate Ltd. of the letter of the 13th. instant addressed to you by them through their Solicitors, Mosers, Deacon, Looker, Deacon and Haraton on the subject of claims against enemy firma or subjects.

It would be of great interest to my Osmittee to know whether the principle of making general surplus mmy funds in the hands of the Imperial Government available for the satisfaction of claims of British Creditore in diffrent parts of the Empire has been or is likely to be adopted by the perial Authorities.

If the principle be admitted it appears only equity that local claims should be a fires charge on local surpluses remitt-
